FINE WINES FOR LE$$ – BLOCK NINE PINOT NOIR 2009

BLOCK NINE PINOT NOIR 2009
Caiden’s Vineyards, California

This is the best under $15 Pinot Noir I have
tasted this year. Block Nine is dedicated to
making only Pinot Noir and the passion they
have for this grape is evident from the first
sip.

Winemaker Larry Levin who spent 17 years
at Dry Creek Vineyards and 9 years as head
of winemaking for Icon Estates is the talent
behind this impressive Pinot Noir.

It’s beautifully balanced with rich, ripe fruit
mild tannin and just the right amount of acidity
for a clean finish. Flavors of dark cherries,
raspberries and strawberries give the wine
complexity while delivering an elegance one
would find only in a Pinot Noir twice the price.

It’s truly a bargain at $14.
