FINE WINES FOR LE$$-MAIPE CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2009

The Maipe Estate is located in the scenic Lujan de Cuyo region of Mendoza, Argentina, just below the Andes at an altitude of 3,000 feet above sea level.  Ideal soil, warm sunny days, mostly dry weather and very cool nights allow the Cabernet Sauvignon vines to thrive. Grapes are harvested at peak maturity which result in rich and luscious wine.
I had the pleasure of tasting the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon over the weekend.  I have been impressed with the fine quality of Maipe wines since my first introduction to them about two years ago.
The 2009 vintage is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grown from 35 year old vines.  It has a deep red color and aromas of sweet berries along
with hints of vanilla.  Rich and viscous with a nice balance of firm tannin, it’s a pleasure to drink right now.
For those of you who can be patient, another year in the bottle will be worth the wait !!

This is a steal at $10 a bottle.
Cheers,
Tony Caristi
