SAWTOOTH ESTATE WINERY RIESLING 2010
Snake River Valley, Idaho
I have been a fan of Sawtooth Riesling ever since
my first taste of the 2007 vintage three years ago.
Idaho is well known for its bucolic countryside,
lakes, rivers and “postcard” mountain ranges.
Many of us think of those classic potatoes that
make the state famous in all of the TV ads.
Yet there is a “best kept secret” in this great
state and that is the wonderful wines produced
here. Riesling is particularly well suited to the
climate and soil of southern Idaho and the Snake
River Valley produces fruit that is on par with
the best of Germany.
The 2010 Sawtooth Riesling has just come on
the market this past week and it is the best I
have tasted yet. Peaches and apricots abound
in the aroma. It is fresh, crisp and refreshing,
a perfect wine to enjoy all spring and summer.
Sawtooth Riesling complements your favorite
seafood, ham, turkey, chicken, pasta dishes
and Asain cuisine, especially Thai.
Another incredible wine for less at $11.
