My focus is on providing the highest quality service & edutainment and when selecting wine, Quality to Value is very important to me and my entire Notable Wine philosophy. I find the best quality when there is “Truth in Farming” (a term I will attempt to coin 😉)
Hoopes started out as a family farm selling grapes before Napa became the rock star wine region it is today. Lindsay Hoopes took over the business in 2012 and introduced regenerative and bio-diverse farming practices.
The first vintage I tasted was the 2014 Oakville and I was very impressed with it, even at the $70+ price tag. The wine then took a significant price increase in our area, so I have to reevaluate. Who’s coming with me?😁
I will be keeping these bottles @ 56-60 degrees and look forward to sharing them with the right Cabernet lovers to find out if this Oakville Cab still shines next to other $100+ Napa wines.

Notable Wine Bordeaux & Burgundy Event last night was a ton of fun! Here are a few highlights.
We did some fun comparisons with Burgundy and Willamette Valley, Right & Left Bank Bordeaux and Washington Cabernet, and Chablis and Sonoma Coast Chardonnay.
Great wines, rhymes, music, and good vibes were flowing all night!
I love making new friends who care about the quality of the wines they drink. You don’t always have to spend a lot of money for quality wine, you just need to know where to find them!

This was an amazing deal I found a few months ago, and finally had the chance to try it.
I was concerned about how it was stored and didn’t have much hope for it when I first popped it. The color seemed a bit off, but this wine was amazing and complex and full of rich, ripe, perfectly aged fruit, without being overbearing!!
There was still enough acid to keep it all together, but it was balanced and full body. Paired well with halibut, and could’ve handled salmon, pork, or even chicken cordon blue!
A truly Notable Wine & Vintage, I wish I had more!
If you like full body rich whites, this is a great producer, region and blend of varietals to try out, especially if you like Chardonnay but are ready for something fun and different!

Judging your wine is easy when you bought if for a purpose / but when it’s your occupation the pressure can make you nervous.
You think you know a wine / but then your in a new location / there’s a chance you misjudge it due to bottle variation.
No need for over complication / take a deep breath just wait and / recollect your thoughts and remember what I’ve been sayin’…
These are bottled fermented grapes and some can be quite amazing / there’s no need to stress to establish the proper ratings.
That first sip will coat your palate / but can often be skewed / by the wine you just tasted / evaluate it on sip number two!
You’ve got to judge each wine on it’s own merit / not with others / as hard as that may be / they may seem like twin brothers…
Go with your first impressions / take notes and do your best then / when you double check yourself put your knowledge to the test.
Are you looking for balance, boldness, sweetness or acid?
When you make your decision, try to be mentally placid.
Have confident conviction / making your final decision / even though you’ll be spittin’ / competitions test resilience / And to properly show off a wineries brilliance / Employ complete competence in abundance / so just chill and use your best judgement making judgments!

Found this 9 year old Napa Cabernet that needed to be opened… it was worthy of a wine rhyme 😁
The fruit was still holding up well, but I wouldn’t age this one any longer. Still lots of tannin and structure, and would have been great with a steak… but it was nice to share with a few people who can appreciate a bottle with some age! 🎵🍷
