I love when I get to play my favorite tracks in a quick mix format to keep people moving! It’s only 1.5hours, so mixing in 3+ hours worth of songs is how I like to roll!
A young tennis player/DJ came up to check out the vibe 😎… I love that kids his age are DJs now… yes, I told him I started on Vinyl, and I think he walked away in disbelief that dinosaurs still exist 🤣

Loved tasting these well made Santa Lucia Highlands wines today with @justjonilynn @tastemcintyre !
Great high acid and balanced Pinot Noir & Chardonnay that drinks well now, but also gets more complex with some age. The 2016 SLH Pinot had some fun herbal and truffle notes with the mellowed cherry fruit and balanced acid, while the 2016 Estate PN still showed significant room for development with darker berry notes, vanilla and a strong backbone of acid. The 2018 SLH Pinot was much more vibrant than the half bottle of 2016, offering a fresher, higher acid style of an equally lovely expression of Pinot Noir!

Amazing blind tasting with Jay & Holly and a group of great people with distinguished palates.
It’s always tough when you are out on the spot to say what you think about a wine… especially when the winemaker is standing right there.
It may be even harder to make wines in a challenging vintage, and get a random group of Texans to tell him what we thought of them! He was thoughtful enough to throw a Syrah in the mix with some well made Pinot Noir!

Special wines deserve specific shout outs. Red Bourgogne (Pinot Noir) and Brunello di Montalcino (Sangiovese) were the two most significant wines to me and my wine career development and passion from the very start, circa 1999-2000.
They were the first regions I understood to make high quality dry wines, and when I tasted them I knew, “Wow, that’s great stuff!”
Producer and vintage matter.
